Public Health (PH) has been defined as "The science & art of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health through the organised efforts of society", and the PG Dip/MSc Public Health enables the broadest interpretations of these definitions.

It recognises that theory and practice must embrace both positivist and constructionist perspectives on health, and bridges the full range of strategic and grassroots activity.
