Urban Regeneration and Renewal. University of Birmingham

This course is aimed at extending academic knowledge and critical understanding of issues in urban regeneration and renewal and will appeal to those working in agencies concerned with the regeneration of urban areas in the public and private sector. Core and optional modules are theoretically informed using a variety of case studies examining different aspects of regeneration and renewal in an urban and Brownfield context. The combination of theoretical and practice based modules allows students to explore emerging themes in urban regeneration including the impact of austerity, the role of energy in renewal strategies and the increasing importance of resilience in regeneration strategies and interventions. The course is recognised by the ESRC.
