The MSc in Leadership in Health and Social Care is a route within the MSc Professional Development Framework within the Faculty of Wellbeing and Social Sciences aimed at professionals with leadership and or management responsibilities working within the field of health, social and related public services.
The first three modules, usually taken over an eighteen month period will provide a basic grounding in the theories of management and leadership skills. If you wish to progress onto the Diploma you will take three further modules over a further eighteen months which will build on the earlier modules providing a more strategic perspective relating to leadership and management. Although the modules are designed to facilitate a natural progression towards an MSc, each can be taken as a standalone module.
You will develop a broader understanding of the roles and relationships between care providers/commissioners and different professional disciplines and develop the skills to challenge practice and effect significant change in your organisation.
Progression from the Diploma towards the MSc will be achieved by the completion of a Research Module and a Dissertation.
