The duration of the Military Electronic Systems Engineering MSc is 47 weeks, comprising a taught phase of 28 weeks followed by an individual project phase.
During the taught phase, the course progresses from introductory academic studies through to systems topics. Because the main focus of the course is electronic warfare in relation to communications and sensor systems, a good understanding of these systems is required before going on to look at how to defend them from electronic attack or intercept - the course also covers these areas so that successful graduates are versed in all aspects of electronic warfare.
