This course addresses the vital need identified in various industry and Government reports for engineering graduates with the specialist skills to exploit future technologies for long-term economic growth in the aerospace sector.

The course covers the improvement and development of materials for aviation applications, including materials for airframe, aeroengine and the increased use of smart and functional materials.  Additionally it includes the development of new materials, improvement of current materials and application of current materials in new and novel structures. These skills will be crucial to securing strong UK positions on next generation aircraft and the future aerospace industry.
