Carbon Capture and Transport. Cranfield University
It is widely accepted that greenhouse gases, mainly carbon dioxide
produced from burning fossil fuels, are the main contributors to climate
change. Fossil fuels currently satisfy approximately 88% of the global
commercial primary energy demand and in spite of the significant efforts
to increase energy production from renewable sources, fossil fuels are
predicted to continually play a major role in near-future energy supply.
To mitigate climate change while meeting energy demand, the UK and
other developed countries have set ambitious targets to reduce carbon
emissions through carbon capture and storage (CCS).
