This course enables trainees to become proficient and imaginative teachers of geography in secondary schools. Geography is a popular subject, and appears among the popular choices at GCSE and 16-19. A residential experience at a youth hostel to consider the management of fieldwork and practice in completing risk assessments forms part of the training. We have a national reputation for secondary teacher education based on an effective school partnership structure and wide range of subject disciplines. Our PGCE secondary provision was rated 'outstanding' in the 2011 Ofsted Inspection.
