Clinical Biomechanics in Orthotic Therapy. Staffordshire University
This award focuses on orthotists who specialise in lower limb orthotics
and gait analysis. In order to effectively treat a patient using
orthotic intervention, it is necessary to understand the mechanics
behind the condition that they are treating. This requires a good
knowledge of the principles of clinical biomechanics, the role orthoses
and their relationship to pathomechanics. The British Association of
Prosthetists and Orthotists have identified the need for extended PG
provision and this is reflected in the nature of this course.
